Pleasant sitting in the shade.
Letting
the day slip away.
Slight breeze keeps the heat at
bay.
A small lizard on a rock,
looks at me
through beady black-eyes,
and in a flash it’s
gone.
A sparrow lands on a nearby branch,
it’s head bobbing up and down as it watches me.
I laugh out loud, and the bird takes flight.
Such beautiful country,
Air cleaner,
sweeter the sky more blue.
Soon I find myself escaping
deeper,
Surrendering.
Shutting out the world.
Sitting here
motionless.
As my spirit is set free.
